Brazilian from Gurupi, Tocantins, Elly Soares discovered early in her childhood a passion for drawing. She developed her talent using techniques in charcoal and color pencil sketching. Self taught, Elly improved her skills in oil on canvas, acrylics and mixed media.
In 1996, Elly opened up her first studio in Goiania, Brazil. She did many exhibitions in Brazil and her artworks have sold in Europe and South America. In 2001 she moved to Atlanta, GA where she lived until February 2011. In Atlanta she continued developing her passion though exhibitions,sketching courses . Today she resides in Los Angeles, CA and lives out her dream. She continues to do exhibitions all over the US, most notably Manhattan, NY. Her creative energy has recently inspired her to work on wall murals and furniture.
Elly is a Member of the Brazilian Endowment for the Arts.
